We hope you have had a brilliant Summer holiday and are raring to go with our exciting new topic: Dinosaurs!
After discovering a Dinosaur egg in our outdoor classroom, and witnessing CCTV of a T-Rex stomping through the school grounds, we are sure to be in for a half term of excitement! Through our topic, we will learn to ask big questions about Dinosaurs and the world around us, like 'What happened to the dinosaurs?' and 'What would it be like if Dinosaurs were around today?'. We will learn about many different types of dinosaurs including what they eat, where they lived and their names - and hopefully how to spell them too!
Class One will also be learning about simple animal life cycles of animals in our Science lessons, as well as thinking about ways to protect our Earth and keep ourselves healthy so we don't end up extinct like the dinosaurs did!
In Maths we will be mastering Place Value over the term, as well as learning ways to use this to add and subtract.
Our RE learning this half term will be building towards our celebration of Harvest, gaining a deep understanding of how both Christian and Jewish people celebrate and give thanks for the crops God helps us to grow.
It will be an exciting start to the new year and we welcome parent helpers into class to get stuck in too!
