Welcome to the Foundation Stage

Welcome back to a brand new Academic Year, I hope you all had a wonderful Summer.

Miss Gray and I very much look forward to welcoming all our new and current F1 and F2 children and their families. We cannot wait to see you begin your Learning Journey with us at Kneesall. What will you achieve this year?

This Term promises to be another exciting learning experience, with many fantastic opportunities. Foundation Stage on transition day demonstrated a love of adventure and excitement which has led us to our Autumn Term 1 topic:

Our topic Superheroes will be supported by an array of literature including Supertato and Traction Man and many more! The many stories built around superheroes will allow us to explore superhero senses, build a hide out, explore our own super power, design and make a superhero fountain, create our own superhero logo and much more.

The Foundation Stage prides itself on adapting according to the interests of the children, providing spontaneous learning opportunities adhering to the core principles of the Foundation Stage. The possibilities and opportunities are endless!

Finally, we very much look forward to joining in the many wonderful whole school and after school events that have been planned for this Half Term and what a busy Half Term it will be!

Things to remember:

To ensure that your child is prepared for each school day please send them with their book bag, a waterproof coat, wellington boots and a change of socks and pants. Please make sure all of your child’s clothing is clearly labelled to avoid losing school uniform and remember to bring named P.E. kit every Monday to take home Friday.

Fruit and water is available throughout the day on the ‘munch & mingle’ table for children to access in their free play. To avoid sharing any unnecessary germs, school are providing all Foundation Stage child with their own drinks bottle. This will enable them to fill it up with water when required and stay hydrated throughout the day.

A quick reminder to parents if you haven’t already, if your child would like milk please register at www.coolmilk.com. Under fives receive free milk! Every Tuesday afternoon children can visit the tuck shop for a selection of healthy snacks for 40p and drinks for 50p. Please put coins in a small named purse or zipped pocket in their book bag so they can access this independently.

Our door is always open so, please come and see Miss Gray or myself if you have any questions or would like to discuss anything.

Thank you for your continued support,

Miss S. Walsh Foundation Class Teacher

Mrs-S-Ilett-Coupe-Head-TeacherWelcome to Kneesall Church of England Primary School! We are a small, rural Church school where every pupil knows how valued they are and all are encouraged to reach their full potential. We provide a secure, yet stimulating learning environment that enables pupils to be inspired and enthused. Our staff lead by example and our Christian ethos is evident in everything we do. We encourage our pupils to care for each other, for their community and for the world in which they live. Their spiritual, moral, cultural and social development is as important to us as their academic attainment.

Kneesall School has served our village for more than 150 years and is an important part of our local community, as well as the wider community. We take an active part in village life through our strong links with our church and the local villages.

Our beautiful school grounds provide plenty of opportunities for environmental studies, structured playtimes, development of expressive arts and areas for reflection. The outdoor equipment and playing field are a real asset to school and pupils are encouraged to develop their physical abilities.

We provide a rich and meaningful curriculum which sets out to educate the ‘whole’ child and creates opportunities for each and every one to experience success.

We know how important it is to have strong links between home and school in order for good learning partnerships to be forged and we greatly value these partnerships.

We would love you to come and visit us so that you can find out more about our school, our values and the special place that is Kneesall C of E Primary School.  All of our information is on the website but if you would prefer paper copies they are available from the Office.
